PCB board is the basic material of PCB, commonly known as substrate. Copper clad laminate (CCL) is made of wood pulp paper or glass fiber cloth as reinforcing material, impregnated with resin, and single or double-sided copper foil. Copper clad laminate is the basic material of the electronics industry, mainly used for processing and manufacturing printed circuit boards (PCBs), widely used in electronic products such as televisions, radios, computers, mobile phones, and communications.
According to the mechanical rigidity of the copper-clad laminate, it is divided into rigid copper-clad laminate and flexible copper-clad laminate;
According to the insulation material and structure of the copper-clad laminate, it is divided into organic resin copper-clad laminate, metal-based copper-clad laminate, and ceramic-based copper-clad laminate;
According to the flame retardant grade, it is divided into flame retardant board and non-flame retardant board: according to UL standards (UL94, UL746E, etc.), the flame retardant grades of rigid copper-clad laminates are divided into four different resistance types: UL-94V0 level; UL-94V1 level; UL-94V2 level and UL-94HB level.
According to the thickness of the copper-clad laminate, it is divided into thick plate (board thickness range 0.8~3.2mm, containing Cu) and thin plate (board thickness range less than 0.78mm, not containing Cu);
The copper foil plate can be divided into five types according to the reinforcing material of the board:
Paper-based; glass fiber cloth-based; composite base (CEM series); layered multilayer board base; special material base (ceramic, metal core base, etc.).
According to the different resin adhesives used, PCB circuit board materials can be divided into:
(1) The commonly used paper-based CCI includes phenolic resin (XPc, XxxPC, FR-1, FR-2, etc.);
(2) Epoxy resin (FE-3)
(3) Polyester resin
(4) Other special resins (with glass fiber cloth, nylon, non-woven fabric, etc. as auxiliary materials):
①Bismaleimide-modified triazine resin (BT)
②Polyimide resin (PI)
③Diphenyl ether resin (PPO)
④Maleic anhydride imide-styrene resin (MS)
⑤Cyanate ester resin
⑥Polyolefin resin
FR-4A1 grade
This grade is mainly used in military, communication, computer, digital circuits, industrial instruments, automotive circuits, and other electronic products.
FR-4A2 grade
This grade of PCB circuit board materials is mainly used in ordinary computers, instruments, advanced household appliances, and general electronic products. This series of copper-clad laminates are widely used, and various performance indicators can meet the needs of general industrial electronic products.
FR-4A3 grade
This grade of CCL is a FR-4 product developed and produced specifically for the household appliance industry, computer peripheral products, and general electronic products (such as toys, calculators, game consoles, etc.). Its feature is that the price is extremely competitive under the premise of meeting the required performance.
FR-4AB grade
This grade is a unique low-grade product. However, all performance indicators can still meet the needs of ordinary household appliances, computers, and general electronic products, and its price is the most competitive, and the cost performance is also quite good.
FR-4B grade
This grade of board is a low-quality board with poor stability. It is not suitable for large-area circuit board products. Generally, it is suitable for products with a size of 100mmX200mm. It is the cheapest, but customers should be cautious in choosing to use it.
CEM-3 series
This type of product has three base material colors: white, black, and natural. It is mainly used in computers, LED industries, watches, general household appliances, and general electronic products (such as VCD, DVD, toys, game consoles, etc.). The main feature of its PCB circuit board material is that it has good punching performance and is suitable for large PCB products that require punching and forming processes. This series of products has three quality grades, A1, A2, and A3, which can be used by customers with different requirements.
